Changes to Hotspot & Domestic Services
In continuing efforts to improve our services and provide you with scalable products, we are launching faster and better services as described below. This has meant we have had to discontinue our existing Monthly Hotspot service and Domestic Internet services
Our new packages are managed by a new billing system, and we hope that this will make it easier for you to manage your accounts in the future. Please note that your username and password has not changed.
The new packages have been developed to offer you a wider range of services to choose from, whilst maintaining our highest quality of service.
You can immediately log into the portal and update your contact & billing information, check your usage statistics and invoices.
To Log into the new billing portal, please click on http://billing.skyband.mw and enter your existing username and password.
The new packages are based on a capped service model, meaning that you will only pay for the bandwidth you use. To support this we are also providing easily available top-up packages, therefore, you need not be concerned if your Cap is reached before the end of the month. In the event your cap is unused, our system will roll over up to 100% of your monthly cap to the next month.
We are also introducing a Nightrider package which is capped during peak hours (6am-6pm weekdays) and uncapped at nights and weekends.
These new services are connected to SEACOM via a fiber optic link and we will be backing this up via our existing satellite capacity until such time that alternative fiber routes out of Malawi are available to ensure we are able to maintain continuity of service.
We will from the 1st of July 2010 be migrating existing subscribers of the Monthly Hotspot and Domestic Internet services as follows:
Monthly Hotspot: This service will migrate to iSurf 2GB. The iSurf 2GB package offers subscribers a 2GB Cap of data monthly, at speeds of up to 512kbps (and faster in the near future), as opposed to speeds of up to 128kbps on the discontinued Monthly Hotspot service.
Domestic Internet: This service will migrate to iSurf Nightrider 4GB. The iSurf Nightrider 4GB package offers subscribers a 4GB Cap of data monthly which is rated between 6am and 6pm on weekdays, and uncapped usage between 6pm and 6am on weekdays and all weekend long.
You may feel that you wish to migrate your service to a lower or higher capped package and/or to a Nightrider package, you are free to do this, please provision this through the biling portal or contact us directly. The complete list of our new iSurf packages including top-up packages and pricing are displayed on the right.
